This is the staff that worked on Pulse’s Spring 2018 issue.
Nicole Boucher, Chief Editor: I am a junior Journalism and Global Studies major who writes for the Hofstra Chronicle and plays on the Club Volleyball team. After I graduate next year, I hope to get a job in New York or Boston.
Alexandra Firmbach, Managing Editor: I am a senior journalism major with a minor in public affairs. I expect to graduate in May 2019. After graduation, I aspire to work in the music industry, with aspirations of writing for a music magazine.
Frank Luisi, Assigning Editor: I came from Rome, Italy when I was 14 years old. I am a Journalism major with a concentration in English, and I am a member of Hofstra’s Honors College. When I graduate I want to pursue a master’s degree in another area of study, and I want to travel the world to write stories that no one else will.
Savanna Malloy, Art Director: I am a senior journalism major minoring in creative writing. I am a member of the Hofstra University Honors College and I am part of the Division I Hofstra Field Hockey team. I aspire to graduate in May 2018 and work and live in Manhattan doing what I love: writing!
Brittany Davis, Assistant Art Director: I’m a junior journalism major with minors in fine arts and creative writing. On campus, I’m a member of the executive boards of Delta Phi Epsilon and the UNICEF club. I’m passionate about writing and design, and I hope to use those creative outlets to influence social change.
Christina Betances-Orrell, Online Editor: I am a Journalism major with a minor in Psychology, and an active member of Phi Sigma Sigma. I have always had a passion for writing content, editing, and social media, and have had two internships in my college career in the social media/marketing departments. I learned a lot about digital editing in my position for Pulse this semester, and I aspire to be a social media editor for a media group in New York post graduation this spring.
Nicole Caico, Photo Editor: Majored in Journalism and minored in Spanish while attending Hofstra. I dedicated my time to residential students as a resident assistant and spent countless hours preparing broadcasts at WRHU. I’m now a full-time job hunter looking to break into media.
Taylor Bellman, Assistant Photo Editor: Taylor Bellman is a senior Journalism major at Hofstra University and a founding father of the university’s chapter of the Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity. He aspires improve the world through his writings and to live a life worth writing a novel about.
Tara Egan, Copy Chief: I am a senior Public Relations major with a double minor in Journalism and Civic Engagement. I am graduating this May and moving to Los Angeles in June. I loved working on the magazine this semester, I learned a lot about copy editing!
Ashley Mantrana, Assistant Copy Chief: I am a sophomore majoring in Journalism and minoring in English and Marketing. I work for University Relations and am part of Hofstra Today and Alpha Phi on campus.
Gio Annatelli, Business Manager: Journalism major with a minor in Rhetoric while attending Hofstra. Was a member of WRHU and The Hofstra Chronicle. Also played club Lacrosse and currently a brother of Phi Delta Theta. Currently looking for a job in the sports field.
Courtney Shapiro, Advertising Manager: I am currently a sophomore studying Journalism and Spanish. I’m the communications vice president for Hofstra Hillel, I am a staff writer for Her Campus Hofstra, and I am extremely involved in my co-ed community service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. Once I’m done with school I hope to be writing for a fashion magazine and living in New York City!
Mackenzie Xanthos, Assistant Advertising Manager: I’m originally from Fishkill, N.Y. and currently reside in Stamford, C.T. . I am a journalism major with a minor in Irish Studies and am expected to graduate in December of 2018. In my spare time, I enjoy watching and talking about hockey 24/7 and playing with my dog.
Nick Faria, Circulation Manager: I am a Junior Journalism Major with a Film Studies minor. I am the Sports Director at WRHU, Sports Anchor for SportsBeat and Hofstra Today for the HEAT Network. After I graduate I hope to become either an on-air talent for a professional team or be a producer/director for a radio station.
